Hi Iā€™m Deb. For the past 27 years, I have been working in the field of healing and holistic health. Beginning with a BA at the University of NSW, I then went on to study Naturopathy and practice as a Naturopath for 5 years. I became mesmerised by Eastern philosophy and found myself on the Yoga /meditation path. After studying Yoga I then opened and co-directed my own Yoga school in Sydney (The Dharma Shala), where I nurtured a spirit of enquiry via yoga and taught yoga classes from 2001 through 2009. After leaving Sydney, I moved to the beautiful rainforest in the Northern Rivers of NSW, and began travelling and teaching workshops and retreats in India, Bali, London, Thailand, and Newcastle for the next few years. I then incorporated Cranio Sacral Therapy into my practice, which I was fortunate to study with Heera Cattani and Dhyan Trevor from Craniosacral Australia.

I have always been drawn to nature and the interconnectedness of things and as a direct consequence I have also been naturally inquisitive about holistic health and human well being. In 2013 I began the study of Psychotherapy and the mystery of the human psyche. I completed my Masters in Gestalt at Gestalt Therapy, Brisbane. I then added another layer to my practice with Hakomi therapy and completed a 3 year advanced training with Hakomi Australia, and am a fully certified Hakomi therapist. During this time, I immersed myself further in trauma informed trainings with world respected teachers and practitioners Manuela Mischke-Reeds, Esther Perel, Gabor Mate, Janina Fisher, Thomas Hubl, Terry Real and John Briere. Recently I received my second certification and now a fully certified Hakomi therapist.

Throughout the past 27 years and to this day, I have delved deeply into discovering who i am and how I relate to myself and others, how I impact others and am impacted by them. In deepening my understanding of human connections and interconnections, I have become very interested and passionate about Couples Therapy, training with world renowned teachers of couples therapy, Rob Fisher, Esther Perel and Terry Real and Ellyn Bader. I continue to immerse myself in trainings and am influenced and inspired by many wonderful therapists and use their wisdom in my work regularly. They guide me both in my practice as a therapist and in my personal life.

Up until recently i was volunteering at the Neighbourhood centre in Mullum where i offered my support as a psychotherapist. This was a period of time where i experienced the diversity of our community, and feel so grateful to have had the opportunity to work with such a broad spectrum of the community.

In my work, as in my life, I deeply honour the complexity of our shared human fragility and how we show up in the world. My work intrinsically weaves together all my modalities and life experiences in a gentle, empathic and caring tapestry. I am committed to my on going personal therapy, self enquiry, supervision and professional development.
